After playing homeworld for quite some time i realized that there are 2 different styles of play that are quite obvious and quite prevelant.
The first is the capital ship player. this type of player takes a long time to get started and is usually quite weak in the opening stages of the game.
The second type is the giant swarms of strike craft player. this comes out much quicker but it is still quite weak in power until bombers are introduced.
The way i play is like so. this strat works with reasearch turned ON. and no injections. my first tier of research is cap ship drive. DUH. get out that resource controller. Build 3 research ships, and 2 more resource collector. when the controller is done. build 1 of those.
next research is corvette drive. which is also fast. then research fighter drive. If it is a high resource map you can bulid another resource team. and research covette chassis. although this may go against the way you play. researching widley gives a good base so that your fleet has no weakness.
Your next move depends on your opponnent. probe him. if we see strike craft. proceede to step
Number 1. However. if we see that he has stepped up his resourceing. and there are very little strike craft. proceede to step Number 2. Or you can jump right to the Final Notes But why would you?
